Virgin of Candelaria, located in the parish church of San Lorenzo Mártir
The carving—a notable polychrome wood sculpture created in the mid-20th century (c. 1960) by the renowned sculptor from Tenerife, Ezequiel de León Domínguez—required an intervention aimed at halting the material deterioration caused by the passage of time and environmental conditions.
True to the profession's strict code of ethics, Isidro Larizgoitia has guided the entire project according to international principles of minimal intervention, absolute respect for the original, and the reversibility of materials.
